Today

Today. We were all supposed to go on a field trip to Sedim Recreation Centre in Kulim. It was supposed to be a end of the year class trip. We were supposed to enjoy the peace, tranquility and beauty of mother nature.

But fate have it that, after numerous running about to and fro to the headmaster's office, countless typing and re-typing of the working proposal and delays. The trip to Sedim River was cancel after all. I wouldn't go as far as saying it was due to unforeseen circumstances. Rather, due to luck and timing which so happen that they weren't on our side this time.

Nevertheless...

Today did turn out to be a fun filled day. I think somehow, the events that took place today would miraculously find a way into my memoirs (if I have one in the future). Today is a special day for me in a sense that there is something worth remembering or reminiscing about for years to come. Special to me, even though there are no extraordinary or far-fetch incidents happening. In case you are wondering, NO I did not just win a lottery ticket. Nor did I finally scored straight A's in my SPM examinations. (although I wouldn't mind having both of those) Just a end of year party with my dear classmates. (with several other schoolmates, ex-schoolmate, and freeloaders)

We had lunch cum party at Pizza Hut. However, there were about 12 of us only and we had enough food to feed 20 mouths. Naturally, everyone did their very best to try finish all the food laid out on the table. You know; want not, waste not. But at the end, each of us had to bungkus or tar pou balik anyway. As for me, I hypothesised that for the next few days, I will be having nothing but garlic bread for breakfast (for at least 3 days in a row). Well I guess the bright side would be that gluttony and hunger will not longer be an issue then. See, there is always a sliver lining in each cloud!

After our very extensive meal, (which consist of many refills and second rounds) we ditched the wonderful ambiance filled with the scent of cheese and pizzas for a movie! We went and watch Bee Movie directed by Simon J. Smith. The main VA (voice actor) was Jerry Seinfeld and Renee Zellweger. Some of you might be familiar with Jerry as he is also the the star of the comedy series Seinfeld. So with that in mind, I thought this movie would at least provide me with some slapstick's or some sloppy, mindless humour. However, I was proven wrong once again. I was disappointed just within a few minutes of the movie. The jokes are crude and minimal. Storyline wise, there is not much going on. I mean come on, what kind of story that involves a bee suing the entire human race? Well, that's understandable since the movie was only an hour and a half long. (thank God for that!) But I have to say kudos for the voice acting. Not bad actually. At least they manage to portray the characters well enough for viewers with an average intelligence to understand. Do you know that the ever popular Oprah Winfrey actually lent her voice for this movie? (you probably don't) Nevertheless, I doubt that this movie will actually leave any impression at all let alone be a box office hit. (well not on me at least)

Besides that, I managed to bought yet again another book today. I am seriously getting broke because of my inability to control my indulgence on books. (damnit) Gotta do something about it soon or else there will be nothing left in my wallet save for some loose changes and one dollar bills.

I managed to lay my greedy little hands on a game too. Been awhile since I actually buy a game and play it. (one year to be exact) Alas, I managed to find myself a copy of Kingdom Hearts 2:Final Mix+ (one of the greatest game of 2007 ever!). Now there is this tiny little problem that lies between me and my conquest of that game. I don't understand a single word of Japanese! (or rather kanji itself) And of course, there is always the problem of not having a PS 2 to play with. Sigh. I will find a way. By hook or by crook, I will! (mwahahaha)

In a nutshell, today was really a nostalgic and wonderful day. I managed to get so much things done. And all went smoothly according to plan. (even though the plan that went into action was the very last minute one) I feel somehow satisfied that I managed to fulfill my final duty as a class monitor. (well for this year at least) These are indeed the rare moments where I truly enjoy every single bit of it.

Till, next time I hope?
