A Little Bit of Patience

"It is very strange that the years teach us patience - that the shorter our time, the greater our capacity for waiting."-Elizabeth Taylor

Patience. A word that signifies so much, yet so little at the same time. What is patience? Is it the bearing
of provocation, annoyance, misfortune, or pain, without complaint, loss of temper, or irritation? Is it the ability or willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay?

Patience has many names. It is sometime known as composure, stability, self-possession; submissiveness, or even sufferance. Albeit the different names, they still bring about the same connotation.

Have you ever look back into your life; reminiscing about the good old days, where you kept your temper in check? Or during those moments where you nearly blew it? Patience; was the only thing holding you back then. Without it, who knows what will happen? Being beaten to a pulp perhaps? How about being alienated because of the lack of patience one has? Patience. It sure goes a very long way, eh?

Instead of sharing tales with you people about my own personal encounter with patience
(or the time where I nearly loose it) I will just skip all that and go straight to the importance of being patient!

Reasons on why you should always be patient;

  1. You will bashed up by other people if you don't. (unless you bashed others first for it)
  2. People will dislike you for your lack of patience. (but not directly telling you about it)
  3. People shall alienate you as if you are some freak of the nature. (as if people don't get themon a daily basis)
  4. You will loose your job if you don't.(provided you are working of course)
  5. You will be marked down upon others.(teachers especially)
  6. You might be expelled from your school if you don't.(unless you are some V.V.I.P)
  7. Being patient is supposedly one of the most important virtue of life.(or is it?)
  8. Being patient is dictated by our parents, the norm of society, and religion.(need i say more?)

But despite all these, I believe patience should have a limit too like every other things in this world. Take it a bit too far, and it's called cowardice then. Being patient on your very own standard. Listen not to others.
(unless they have some very, very good advice for ya,then it would probably be wise to take them) And stick to this principle where, with every patience, there lies a solution! (there you go, another philosophy by yours truly) Or perhaps I am the only one here being too naive?

Oh well,

I am only extraordinary patient, provided I get my own way in the end.-Margaret Thatcher
